Jesus visits his home town of Nazareth and, according to his usual pattern, visits the synagogue where he encounters a mixed reception. The local boy, made good, is given short shrift and Jesus deliberately winds up his townsfolk by quoting a well known proverb about a prophet being unacceptable in his own country.
